Vel, vel, velveweta

SATURNALIA has past and you can put away your Phrygian Cap for the winter. Notice the one on Attis.

Did all the popes in your family celebrate the return of the sun?

Remember, there is a Discordia! And, I mean that in the same sense as 'there is a Santa Claus' and there is an "Easter Bunny."

Chaos is all inclusive.

There are GREAT TRUTHS to be discovered by the adventuresome!

Be not timid. Falter not on the path before you. One step leads to a great stumble.

The way is the Tao and with the Tao in tow the toe you stub will be a stubby toe.

The path is illuminated, not by the illuminati, by your inner illumination. Do you buy that? (Leave a tip.)

But there is something cheesy lacking.

Better, now?

Title: Pun

Translating scriptures (folklore) is an inexact science.

Especially when it comes to inexact scientists.

While jihadists crave 72 white grapes in the garden, end-timers seek to solve mysteries.
The Koran says martyrs will get “hur,” and the word was taken to mean “virgins.” But in Aramaic, hur actually meant “white” and was commonly used to specifically mean “white grapes.” Remember, in the context of a desolate desert, a lush garden [return to Eden] is rewarding. "for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise)"
Then again, with all that sexual repression in Islamic fundies, WHERE ARE ALL THE VIGINS to be found assuming you BELIEVE that mistranslation?

Now, to the beginning and the pun very very few "got."

The biblical passage I was using as the basis if my pun was none other than the mistranslated and misunderstood folklore in Revelation 17.

Mysterion is not a person, it is an adjective used to modulate the word "Postulate." And Postulate IS the person - thus displaying from the outset that your perception got is backwards! (e.g. like the well-known 15,735 errors in translation within the KJV of 1611) A kick-off point for an OT discussion might start HERE.

Once you know the 'truth,' you can no longer dwell in the realm of demons, deceit, and dreams.

Drawn copper was onto something ( Welt am Draht ). We are all strung out on encoded electron flow - like cars on a train where the conductor is hidden.

One question remains: "Is this train training?"

If this all seems like nonsense to you, all I have to say is: "I certainly hope so!"

Personality

That is the answer.

How do groups like ISIS in particular, and the JW as an aside, pick recruits?

There are a variety of Personality Types, a few described by Meyers-Biggs.

And, as you might expect, there are also a number of personality disorders.

Google: anagrams jung sufi

The middle east or ANE is/was a hotbed of one-upsmanship, gaining the advantage in the caravan trades.

The secret of cults. like ISIS and the JWs, is a foundation of unhappiness and dissatisfaction in those that they target. Sexual repression is an effective tool for religions to use in controlling their "catch." Sexual repression might just be an unintended consequence of personality.

TRUE BELIEVERS lack Critical Thinking Skills.

I will pick an example in which I have no investment. If you BELIEVE vitamin C can cure/prevent cancer, then you have a weakness others can exploit. If you THINK vitamin C can be beneficial based on a preponderance of evidence from your own research, then you have a strength.

My opinion on BELIEF reflects that of the Buddha 2,500 years ago.

cults make liberal use of many influence techniques

Individuals may also have an unreasonably high opinion of themselves and feel that they have been held back in professional or social situations. Religions offer many fabled rewards, from 72 white grapes to inclusion in the 144,000.

Zen offers NOTHING. It may be your best choice.

No need to go door-to-door with comics or go to extremes with bad behavior.

the turkey was kosher thanks to the moil

First of all, I am a vegetarian. I have been a vegetarian for many many years.

All my friends ask me: "Joe, how do I patent..."

Studies have been conducted on the effects of castrating Tom Turkeys.

When it comes to circumcision, turkeys (e.g. barnyard animals) escape.

If abortion was available everywhere, most republican presidential candidates would never have been live born - and they know (and fear) it!

Then there is the issue of "Baby Hitler." (Stolen)

Some Republicans even defend baby Hitler. If Bush killed baby Hitler, it would diminish his grandfather's wealth!

But getting back to thanksgiving and turkey.

Thanksgiving is the celebration of greed and stupidity. Why would I mark that as anything other than 'just another day' in the dream. There is a computer creating this simulation and the programmer(s) has (have) a twisted sense of humor.

For the most part, I am programmed to like it.

Another "Day of the Sun"

You know the spiel: "And there shall be signs in sun, and moon, and stars, and on the land is distress of nations with perplexity, sea and billow roaring" - Luke 21:25

It is claimed that Jesus return "in this generation" never happened, proving Jesus is a false prophet. Is this true?

"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.'' (Matthew 24:34)
"Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.'' (Mark 13:30)
"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.'' (Luke 21:32)

Well remember that a playwright hired by the Flavian Court wrote 3 plays (like Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth) named Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

So mega churches are correct in staging their productions for the entertainment of the theatre audience.

"Megachurches are more than just your regular pulpit and pew church. They’re larger, they’re packed, and they’re drawing in thousands of people."

In California alone, there are 191 mega churches.

The church used to be "ADVENTURE christian CHURCH" and was a franchise out of Amarillo, Tx.

“One church, eight locations,” is the slogan Amarillo’s Hillside Christian Church is using to describe its merger with a California mega church whose congregation approved the move.

Mergers and acquisitions... just business.

They are just a bunch of nice folks.

What IS the problem?

If a dog is cold, he will find a warm place in which to sack out.

So it is with conversations.

When confronted with someone who has labored thinking, it is best to move to a less labored arena.

By one measure, 2013 [for example] was a banner year: When America's right-wingers opened their mouths, astonishing stupid words belched out of them.

This crop of Republican Candidates are just too stupid to be President.

It’s Time to Tell the Truth: The GOP Presidential Primary is an Embarrassment to the United States.

Clinton eMail server reveals a BIG LIER

Republicans were hoping for a bombshell revelation from their Benghazi inquisition and they sure got a BIG ONE. Except that it's about how George W. Bush and Tony Blair conspired to con the world on their predetermined invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Yes, the Republicans were salivating over a giant new scandal but what they actually exposed was that members of their party were the biggest war criminals in American history.

If Wikileaks had released this email, the Republicans would be screaming for blood. But the email was released pursuant to a court order the Republicans demanded.

The declassified document also discloses that Blair acted as a glorified spin doctor for the Republican President by presenting ‘public affairs lines’ to convince a skeptical public that Saddam had WMD – when none existed.

Republicanism as a Religion

Only by understanding its religious roots can republicanism rise again. It must have this single vision. This vision is not Enlightenment rationalism or a reasonable logic but rather a completely conservative Christian idealism based on an emotional attachment to Bible-believing – the singularly religious-based desire - and commitment - for a religious-based Christian state.

Colossians 3:22 - Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

Republicans are running from the Stars and Bars and the Trump. Still, republicanism WINS when voter turn-out is low.

And they are reinventing history with a broad brush.

But, with Faux Snews, they have people who know how!

On Mourning...

I can not find the quote...

At some point, the Buddha said words to the effect:

Do not mourn for a man when he dies.

Morn for him when he is born.

There are several versions of this floating around in the "cloud" of web misinformation but none get the the Sanskrit crux of the matter.

"The truly wise mourn neither for the living nor for the dead."

The above is from the Bhagavad Gita (Song of God) - a part of the ancient Sanskrit Mahabharata (Great Poem). (Both the living and dead are but a dream)

THIS is one explanation (which is CULTURAL, not philosophical)

I like Takuan's instructions. "Be done with it and go home."

Since I wrote my death poem long long ago, that giri is thus dispatched.

We are all dead. We just have to realize it one day. Do not be angry about it and you will sleep well.

In the meantime, continue your dream. And dare to dream of peace.

Dream

Takuan Sōhō died in 1645. The moment before his death, Takuan painted the Chinese character 夢 ("dream").

TOKAI-JI: Strolling in a dream

"Takuan’s tomb, marked by a round natural stone, occupies an atoll of calm amid the hissing of passing bullet trains, surrounded as it is by a clutter of old tombstones moved from long-lost subsidiary temples."

His greatest legacy? Pickled radish.

Now go back to sleep.

And dream on...

Once upon a time...

...there may have been life - but that was hundreds of billions of years - and thousands of simulations - ago!

The Simulated Universe Argument suggests that the universe we inhabit is an elaborate emulation of the real universe. Everything, including the people, animals, plants and bacteria are part of the simulation. The simulation also extends further than the Earth: all the planets, asteroids, comets, stars, galaxies, black holes, nebula and other space debris are also part of the simulation: in fact our entire Universe is a simulation running inside an extremely advanced computer system designed by a super intelligent species which lives in a parent universe.

SOURCE

None of this is new, news, or recent. (See my past postings)

This simulation has extremely "tight limits" on the variations of the light quark masses...

There are thousands of universes in which there are no observers.

We watch. We measure. We report.

In the year 1773, after an obscurity lasting 1500 years, the Scottish explorer James Bruce, discovered in what is now Ethiopia, The Book of Enoch.

Download it https://archive.org/details/bookofenochtrans00scho

It is called the Ethiopian Book of Enoch, because the book is best known from some forty manuscripts from Ethiopia. There are other fragments of the book in Hebrew (is that a language?) or Aramaic and even some Ugaritic fragments.

The geographical sites described in Enoch and the myth in Isa 14:12 15 recall the story of Athtar from Ugarit. In other words, Enoch is a VERY old text that seems to predate Torah (Nomos).

You might not care (as I don't really care - one way or the other).

But it seems that we exist to observe. Simple. If this is correct, it explains one thing. If this is incorrect, it explains another.

The TWINS - Gemini - are called "First Man" (Adam) and "First Woman" (Eve) in the Ethiopian Zodiac. In the "Great Ages" theory this makes sense... in the time of Adam and Eve is another allusion to the precession of the Zodiac. The modern Zodiac may have been the Greek version but there were many far earlier versions (Sumer, India, China). The stories are usually hand-me-downs as well (e.g. flood of Noah and Nu Wa).

America's best kept secret:

California is "the welfare state."

Everybody knows it.

It is often repeated.

Except, it isn't true!

When you parse out the actual money spent on welfare - that is money from TAXATION that lands in the hands of the poor - it is a fraction of a penny! [a PDF]

Counties like to shift the cost of the Public Defender's Office (Staff and Lawyers) into the public assistance pot. And, as a line item, it makes accounting sense. Add Social Workers (public assistance) and medical costs and you start to see a clearer picture.

The real issue here is FOGGING. When hate-talk radio has YOU focused of welfare, which rabbit are they stuffing in their hat? Your retirement savings (with fees, churning, and penalties?), or your thinking skills (by playing to your fears and emotions)? $20 BILLION was once going to build 7 ships at $3.5 Billion per hull. At $7 billion (called on-budget and on-tome) THIS is what you get. (Temporary food and shelter for 158 people.)

The bottom line is this:

What is the difference between that college drop-out Rush and the Hindenburg?

One is a horribly over-inflated inflammatory gas bag and the other one is a balloon.

Happier people just don't listen to hate talk radio or watch FAUX Snews. They go for walks, read books, value their own skills, and do thing for the benefit of others.

"Rush Limbaugh and his rating-related woes are a source of amusement for those who can’t stand the hate monger. It’s hard NOT to be amused watching the downward spiral of a loudmouth whose primary claim to fame is divisiveness and ignorance.

Tea Party opposes housing for homeless veterans - and everybody else

"Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires."

The measure passed.

We are tired of Tea Party "Patriots" who pretend to represent veterans everywhere. The Tea Party stands against everything we've fought to preserve!

So, when the hawks tout tea party, point them HERE.

I am not in favor of wars, violence, or lop-sided military spending.

Nor am I in favor of hypocrisy, two-faces liars, and/or emotional manipulation of weak-minded voters.

I am in favor of candid, honest, and open government which is REASONABLE and not driven by fear.

Herbalist reinvents himself in hate-talk.

Savage? You mean Dr. Weiner? Dr. Weiner is NOT like his kid - you know - the rock star.

Share the Blessing

The so-called "flooding in South Carolina" was actually shared by 7 eastern states.

And, they were lucky! Hurricane Joaquin did not touch any of them!

So, it was a once in 500 year flood. It could have been worse. It is still early in the hurricane season, wait and see.

Or wait and sea.

2015 is a season of six to eleven named storms, including three to six hurricanes, only two of which is predicted to attain major hurricane status.

"Prediction is always difficult. Especially where the future is concerned."

In biblical fashion, " always avoid prophesying beforehand because it is much better to prophesy after the event."

In the meantime, deny global warming. Deny rising ocean levels. And ignore the coffins as they float by.

Don't bury, cremate!

Wisdom and Nature

In almost all folklore (even Buddhist), there is that which is manifested and that which is hidden. The hidden part is properly called occult (e.g. Solar occultation of Venus) or 'the mystery.'

Before NATURE, there was WISDOM.

In the Egyptian mysteries, this translates out to before Isis, there was Hathor.

In the folklore of the later Levant, In the Beginning...

But, let us back off to the simulation.

Before you actually RUN the simulation, you need to have the sequenced code (the logically written program).

And, in true statistical fashion, there need not be a code writer. Random circumstance is enough (e.g. one of the infinite possibilities is that a collapsing carbon star - in its diamond core - creates a computer in which the simulation code is indigenous.) An illogically written program would simply crash and there would be no simulation. Billions of illogically written programs could be running and crashing all the time and we would neither know this - or care - unless the crashing program interacted with this simulation - which is highly unlikely. A coincidentally logically written program could run and make this simulation - this completely arbitrary dream.

So, for the HERE and NOW, does it even matter if there is a code writer? No, unless it's a movie script.

The genetic code is very simple.

Will any of this lead to a better clock?

I don't know, wait and see.

Let's use the clock we have, and run the simulation.

A sleeping god's divine dream IS the universe in some traditions.

Or not. Even if you DO wait, you may NEVER see! Either way, it just doesn't matter.

On the failings of BELIEF

Truth: the species that includes human beings also includes some OTHER great apes.

The Hominidae defines a branch of the great apes or hominids. Trump wants to be the Branch Manager.

Family Hominidae, the family that includes humans, is also composed of chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans. It is closely related to the other genus of apes, the gibbons, which are in the family Hylobatidae.

I am ALL FOR other people (or other apes) voting for "The Donald."

And, I am all for the Tea Party Patriots.

The fellow above is being fare about it all.
You know my motto: "Fewer TAXIS, more pedestrians."

It's good to walk! (while you still can)

What makes humans so special? Nothing. Nothing at all.
