The telephone was invented in 1876.

As a result, no president before that - and certainly none of the founding fathers - ever reversed charges.

And when his fat-assness (the trumpster in the dumpster) said other presidents didn't call he was 1/2 truthful. None of the presidents before Rutherford B. Hayes could have made a phone call.

Speaking of President Rutherford B. Hayes, he lost the popular vote yet won the election. And, he was a republican - go figure.

In 1876, the two major candidates running for President were Rutherford B. Hayes, a Republican, and Samuel J. Tilden, a Democrat. The returns indicated a victory for Tilden, who had won the popular vote with 4,284,020 votes to Hayes' 4,036,572.
