DUMP TRUMP!

We are past ANOTHER tipping point.

Republicans pushed back against Donald Trump for firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

McCabe shouldn’t have been fired days before he was due to retire in an episode that risks demoralizing and “smearing” agents, said Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida.

“He should have been allowed to finish through the weekend,” Rubio said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” …two days before he was set to retire after more than two decades with the bureau. “I would’ve certainly done it differently.”

Saturday morning, Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) harshly criticized Trump’s decision to fire former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, adding that he doesn’t think it bodes well for his party.

“Candidly, it looks like retribution and a bit vindictive,” Dent said. “And I think it’s unfortunate. The man said he’s resigning, and on a Friday night before his 50th birthday, he’s fired to take away his pension? I don’t like… this. I really don’t.”

McCabe took on the role during one of the most tumultuous and politically charged periods in F.B.I. history. Mr. McCabe was at the center of the inquiries into both Mrs. Clinton's use of a private email server and the Trump campaign's connections to Russian intelligence officers.

In the Wall Street Journal: This time one year ago, the assumption dominating political coverage was that the only people more stupid than Donald Trump were the deplorables who elected him.

Trump disproved that (WSJ) theory over the weekend.

vindictive, not vindicated

'Jeff Sessions' fired McCabe late Friday night, citing reports from the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility and Office of the Inspector General that stated that McCabe improperly disclosed information to a news reporter…" (it was the trumpster in the dumpster, not the Jeff with the heff)

In the statement, released at 9:59 p.m. EST, Sessions said that based on the inspector general’s report and the findings of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility, “I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately.”

McCabe was expected to retire today, his 50th birthday, when he would have become eligible for retirement benefits. “Sessions’ decision” will likely severely cut or even eliminate those benefits – at least for the time being.

Shortly after midnight (on Saturday morning), about two hours after Sessions issued his statement, Trump Tweeted:

"Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI - A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!"

In response, McCabe released a fiery statement. “I am being singled out and treated this way because of the role I played, the actions I took, and the events I witnessed in the aftermath of the firing of James Comey.”

McCabe turned over his notes to special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, according to several reports. The revelation came as… John Dowd tried using McCabe’s dismissal as a call to end Mueller’s criminal probe of Trump. The opposite effect is taking shape.

Republican Rep. Charlie Dent (Pa.) said Saturday that firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on Friday night looked like a "vindictive" act of Trump.

"I don't like [the] optics of this, & I have to tell you, it looks like the AG may have been browbeaten into this. He's been publicly humiliated by POTUS many times. I don't think this bodes well"

Just how vindictive is the Donald?

While there is a quite a list to choose from, one stands out. In 1999, Donald Trump’s father died. His deceased older brother’s family was cut out of the will. They subsequently sued the Donald because they were once in the will, but claimed the Donald took advantage of his father’s advanced dementia to cut them out.

But that’s not the REALLY vindictive part.
This is: Trump retaliated by withdrawing the medical benefits critical to his older brother’s grandchild.

“I was angry because they sued,” Trump explained in an interview.

What kind of billionaire withdraws the health insurance of an infant with cerebral palsy in a fit of pique?

Being prepared to kill a baby out of vengeance toward their parents… now THAT is an extreme kind of vindictive.

'The White House is in meltdown'

"Here we go again," said Bill Press on NBC News. "Another top Trump advisor fired, resigned, or run out of a job. [This is] one more indication of a White House in complete disarray. Trump can’t attract good people to work for him, perhaps more important, can’t even hold onto the mediocre ones he’s got."

Trump's inability to hire and keep quality people is the most glaring example of the "total meltdown" under "Trump's lack of leadership," he said.

I recently spoke to a "True Believer" in the Trump bullsh*t.

He told me Trump was the answer to all that 'educated liberal' stuff.

When I asked him just WHAT 'educated liberal' stuff he was talking about he said "Benghazi," and then threw up. Thank whatever gods may be he did not barf his guts out. Like many beer-belly patriots, his gut is YUGE!

When beer-belly patriots are not barfing, they are pootin'.

Don't BLAME them (the beer-belly patriots). Some have the critical thinking skills of a toad's stool.

Mueller subpoenas Trump Organization
for documents related to Russia

Special counsel, Robert Mueller, has subpoenaed the Trump Organization to turn over documents, including some related to Russia in a sign that the investigation is closing in on the president.

The subpoena was delivered in “recent weeks” and includes an order for the Trump Organization to turn over all documents related to Russia.

This is the first leaked order directly aimed at Trump’s businesses. What will followers of the Trump Religion (true believers) do?

Asked by the New York Times last year whether he would consider Mueller examining his and his family’s finances a “red line”, Trump said: “I would say yes. By the way, I would say… it’s possible there’s a condo or something, so, you know, I sell a lot of condo units, and somebody from Russia buys a condo, who knows?”

On Twitter, Trump has said he has had “nothing to do with Russia – no deals, no loans, no nothing”.

Yesterday, Democratic lawmakers investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin alleged that the future president’s private company was “actively negotiating” a business deal in Moscow with a sanctioned Russian bank during the 2016 election campaign.

The statement by Democrats on the House intelligence committee, who have had access to internal Trump Organization documents and interviewed key witnesses, raises new questions about the Trump Organization’s ties to Russia and its willingness to deal with a sanctioned bank. (There goes the DEAL, Art.)

One month before Trump laid down the “red line,” Don McGahn, the White House counsel, threatened to quit after Trump asked him to have Mueller fired.

Meanwhile a new poll from Pew Research Center found 61% of Americans were very or somewhat confident Mueller will conduct a fair investigation.

In the meantime, Trump keeps a steady hand of the ship of state.

Mueller was appointed in May 2017 to investigate whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to sway the 2016 presidential election in his favor.

He is also reportedly investigating whether Trump obstructed justice by firing former FBI director James Comey, who has said he refused to give the president his loyalty. (based on contemporaneous notes that James Comey took after these meetings.)
